Guiding Question:

My sustained investigation will focus on physical isolation and how it can teach us more about ourselves, both positively and negatively. My inspiration for this came from looking at work from Henri Prestes and Todd Hido. I like the eerie vibe and feeling of uncertainty that these pieces of work give me. They kind of give me this idea that we aren’t ever really complacent, further undervaluing ourselves and the way we go about living our lives. I think this is something I would love to explore and hopefully translate into my photography. I know this kinda sounds all over the place but this is what I am thinking so far for my sustained investigation.  â€‹

Reflection:

- These photos aim to capture the reoccurring state of isolation through the presentation of subjects and lights. These photos were taken at a public parking lot. These everyday spaces further emphasize the realism of isolation and what it can look like

- Canon camera, lightroom, public parking lot

- For these photos, I visited a school parking lot once it was dark in order to emphasize the mood I wanted to portray in my photos. From there, I adjusted my settings to best fit the lighting of my location and continued to take photos of different components of the parking lot at different angles to give myself more variety to work with
