Guiding Question:

- My sustained investigation will focus on physical isolation and how it can teach us more about ourselves, both positively and negatively. My inspiration for this came from looking at work from Henri Prestes and Todd Hido. I like the eerie vibe and feeling of uncertainty that these pieces of work give me. They kind of give me this idea that we aren’t ever really complacent, further undervaluing ourselves and the way we go about living our lives. I think this is something I would love to explore and hopefully translate into my photography. I know this kinda sounds all over the place but this is what I am thinking so far for my sustained investigation.

  • How can the addition of lines strengthen the message of my photo?

  • How can isolation expand beyond just one individual?

Reflection:

- The idea of this photoshoot was to capture the emptiness and negative space at night to emphasize the concept of loneliness on our journey of personal guidance.

- canon camera, external flash

- I took these photos at night, I made sure to bring with me an external flash which helped a lot in capturing the environment and the little details. Also, I really liked incorporating the walking trail because of the display of emptiness which I think relates very well to my concept of isolation and the state of being alone.
