Guiding Question:

- My sustained investigation will focus on physical isolation and how it can teach us more about ourselves, both positively and negatively. I like the eary vibe and feeling of uncertainty that is displayed through the dark lighting and use of single subjects. It gives me this idea that we aren’t ever really complacent, further undervaluing ourselves and the way we go about living our lives.

Photo Reflection:

- This photo was taken over the summer for the "morning dew" category. I intentionally made it colorless to emphasize the lack of bright and energetic presentation, similar to the characteristics of isolation.

- canon camera, lightroom, photoshop

- This photo was originally in color but I removed it to emphasize the paralleling traits of isolation. I did this by using Photoshop and Lightroom to increase the contrast of black and white.

Morning Dew Process Piece Reflection:

- This process piece relates to the naturistic point of view within my investigation, and furthermore, my final photo of a similar plant. It especially highlights the contrast of colors considering I made it colorless.

- photo sketchbook, colored pencils, printed photos

- I made sure to use at least one digital image to make the actual visualization easier for others. As well, I drew multiple sketches of possible photo ideas, including the specific details of how I wanted the photos to look.

Landscape Process Piece Reflection:

- The purpose of this piece was to further reinforce the visualization of rule of thirds and the use of negative space. I also used Henri Prestes's work as inspiration.

- photo sketchbook, colored pencils, printed photos

- I manipulated the use of thirds through the visualization of grids and spacing. I intended for this strategy to encourage viewers to look at the meaning of my photos through a more negative aspect.
